As seen in the last municipal council last year, with the approval of the second variation to the three-year program of public works 2024/2026 – weighing 467 thousand euros for extraordinary maintenance interventions on municipal roads – the entire Plan designed by the municipal administration now has an investment value of almost 198 million. Of these funds, whose origin is as always varied (mostly restricted funds, while budget allocations are less than 2 million), the majority (around 150 million) concerned investments from last year, 2024, when in fact numerous construction sites were started in the city and in different sectors: more than 12 million for extraordinary maintenance, as many as 88 million for new constructions (here, only the investment for cemetery services for 25 years through a proposal for the construction and management of cemeteries under concession through the “project finance” procedure – Legislative Decree 50 of 2016 – has a weight of 50 million) and the remainder for recovery, restructuring, restoration, expansion and enhancement.
Moving on to the year that has just begun, however, for 2025 – which as we know will represent a change of council at the city’s leadership, net of the possible re-nomination of the outgoing mayor Mascaro – the financial availability remains around 42 million, mainly made up of funds of Institutional Development Contracts (CIS): almost 10 million for the construction of the Sambiase Nord panoramic hilly artery and almost 25 million for “Lamezia sustainable and safe mobility”, two major interventions expected to regarding the city’s roads.
