The airport has gone through difficult times – with operations reduced to a handful of flights a week, worrying scenarios loomed after the Sogas collapse – but by 2024 the hope of a concrete turning point had taken shape. The operation which invested tens of millions of resources, desired by the president of the Region, Occhiuto in harmony with the mayor Cannizzaro and the competence of Marco Franchini at the helm of Sacal, has made Tito Minniti one of the airports with the best growth. Today the decision of the low cost airline represents a cold shower on the ambitions of the territory that had cultivated the hope of a tourist redemption around the Strait Airport.
