The municipal administration accelerates on urban regeneration with two strategic interventions that will change its faces to Pasquale and Largo Diogene, transforming them into modern spaces, inclusive and full of life. The goal is clear: to return to citizens welcoming, green and experienced places, capable of combining well -being, sociality and sustainability.

At the bottom of Pasquale the square “returns to the center”

Here we aim for a real revolution in public space. The square will be completely rethought to become an attractive place, open 24 hours a day, with diversified functions for all ages. Here’s what will change: new elegant pavements in composite and porphyry stone; play areas and work-out spaces for the youngest; Relax areas with ergonomic seats for everyone; Anti-trauma flooring to guarantee safety; rejuvenation of the existing green and creation of new shaded tree -lined spaces; new generation urban furnishings; completely new fitness games and equipment; Contemporary lighting system; Restoration of railings and parapets to enhance the historical identity of the place.

Largo Diogene: Nature, Sport and Sociality

The intervention aims to return a strategic area to the city, rethought in a green, sustainable and multifunctional key. Largo Diogene will become a real urban lung equipped for leisure and outdoor life. Scheduled: new pedestrian paths surrounded by greenery; play areas, work-outs and new urban furnishings; anti-trauma flooring; enhanced lighting; video surveillance to ensure security; new flower beds, irrigation system and planting; Urban gardens and educational vegetable garden for educational and community activities.

“We want to return to citizens beautiful, safe, accessible and living spaces – explains the deputy mayor and councilor for public works, Salvatore Mondello – putting a design vision capable of really improving the quality of life in the neighborhoods”. With these two construction sites, financed by the PNRR and with a expected duration of eight months, the Administration confirms its determination to invest in a greener city, dynamic and measure in person.
