Reggina scores three goals at Melito and continues its march towards the start of the season. In the face of a team that plays in the Promotion championship, well-organized and capable of making a great impression, the Amaranto did not have great brilliance. The goals were scored by Provazza (28′), Barranco (51′) and Vesprini (75′). Especially in the offensive phase, the right lucidity was lacking, but three weeks from the start of the championship the workloads are still high and it is normal not to be at the top. Pergolizzi fielded two different formations between the first and second half, keeping only Bonacchi on the field in the second half.
The Amaranth played the joint training session with a 3-5-2 formation, with a tactical change that came only in the final part. The team veered towards a 4-3-1-2 with Laaribi positioned behind the strikers deployed in the second half, namely Barranco and Perri. Pergolizzi once again mixed things up a lot, opting for formations that in no case showed any continuity with those of the previous tests. A choice probably aimed at keeping everyone on edge and demonstrating that every player can be important. The objective also remains that of giving playing time to everyone, in order to bring the entire team to the best possible level of fitness. Worth noting in the first half were the three under-19s who started: Mariano (2005) third on the right in defence, Pedalino (2005) fifth on the right and Forciniti (2006) in midfield. The latter made a good impression. Cham, Parodi, Rajkovic, Renelus and Rosseti did not take part in the friendly.
“I’m happy,” said Rosario Pergolizzi, “because the team is trying to play and is starting to have the right mechanisms. There’s a bit of slowness, when we find the right condition things will be done differently. We had,” he continued, “in front of us a team that plays good football, they created difficulties for us and we faced them well. We have to be more aggressive in terms of scoring, but the lack of aggressiveness comes from the fact that we are tired.”
Among the most important players of the new Reggina is the new acquisition Racine Ba. Fresh from winning the Serie D with Trapani, he is ready to try again. «Compared to last season – he said after the joint training – we will find a balanced championship with several strong teams». «Our goal – the midfielder highlighted – is to win the championship. Choosing Reggina was not difficult, even if other teams wanted me. This is a great place with history. I left Trapani because we did not agree on some things. We both made choices».
In the first half, the attacking duo formed by Ragusa and Provazza was deployed. The young striker from Reggio, who scored, acted as a second striker. A different position compared to the outside striker in which he has played mainly in his career. “I have to demonstrate – Provazza explained – my qualities, make myself available to the team and also in a different role. My goal is to give everything for this shirt, especially because I am from Reggio. A splendid group is being born”.
