Seven people reported and over thirty high fines for illegal abandonment of waste: this is the balance of the activities carried out in the last 72 hours by the local police of Reggio Calabria as part of a series of targeted checks in the area.

The various branches of the Corps, involved in specific services, have ascertained seven hypotheses of crime in separate interventions, managing to identify the alleged perpetrators. The charges include illegal occupation of public properties, embezzlement and aggravated injuries. Particular concern was also raised by the case of a young man who was involved in an autonomous road accident while driving a vehicle with a blood alcohol level more than six times higher than the limits permitted by law, a condition believed to be close to an alcohol coma.

On the urban decor front, the control activity also led to an intensification of checks against waste abandonment: in just a few days there were more than thirty fines for violation of the current union ordinance on the matter. The local police have announced that services will continue without interruption, in line with the operational needs of the area. The presumption of innocence remains valid for all those reported until a possible final sentence is reached.
