A young 20-year-old non-EU citizen, of Tunisian nationality, was checked in recent days by the Local Police, following a request for intervention received at the operations room in Viale A. Moro.
The patrol that intervened together with the 118 health workers in the central Piazza Carmine, with the aim of identifying the person, found a metal knuckleduster in a bag owned by the subject.
In this case the young man was rescued and cared for. Subsequently, after the ritual formalities and the generalisation, he was reported to the judicial authority for illegal possession of bladed weapons.
The object capable of offending was subjected to judicial seizure; the precautionary measure was validated by the judicial authority.
Further investigations are underway to verify whether the twenty-year-old’s precarious health conditions were caused by third parties.
Since this is a proceeding still in the preliminary investigation phase, the presumption of innocence applies to the suspect until a final sentence has been reached.
