Thirty-two workers of Castore SPL Srl, the company for local public services of the Metropolitan City and the Municipality of Reggio Calabria, will be stabilized. The news was communicated by mayor Giuseppe Falcomataaccompanied by the deputy mayor Paolo Brunetti, during a meeting with the workers in the “Italo Falcomatà” Chandelier Room. Also present were the CEO of Castore, Mimmo Mallamaci, the president Valentina Sapone and Giuseppe Visicaro, member of the board of directors.

«There is great teamwork behind this transformation of permanent contracts – declared Mayor Falcomatà – a synergy that has found concreteness thanks to the activity of the board of directors, which I thank. We note a change of pace in the management of issues relating to the activities of the municipal administration and society sectors. The city is noticing your commitment with great appreciation and, for your part, the care and attention with which you operate emerges. The best thing is to see that you are protagonists of a positive change for the city, in terms of redevelopment and regeneration. Our Administration has always been sensitive to labor issues: the transformation of precarious work into stable work and the creation of new employment opportunities are fundamental for us for growth. It is our commitment to eliminate needs and transmit certainties to citizens, so that living conditions can improve. This objective was also achieved with Atam, where we safeguarded jobs at risk, and with the merger of Reges and Recasi, without losing any jobs, giving life to Castore and opening up new opportunities for many workers.”

Deputy Mayor Paolo Brunetti underlined: «This is a further goal achieved. We have worked towards this goal since the beginning of Castore’s birth. I congratulate the new board of directors and notice a greater serenity, perhaps because the Administration has managed to keep the promises made. It has been a long journey, which saw a great commitment from everyone, and today we see the results. I also want to remember former councilor Gangemi for his contribution. Nobody would have bet on Castore, but today we are proud of this achievement and I invite you to continue working at your best, because you represent the municipal administration. The city is appreciating your work and together we can do even more.”

The CEO of Castore, Mimmo Mallamaci, stated: «Castore is no longer a dream, but is becoming a reality. The move to a permanent contract is a great achievement for all of you. This achievement was made possible thanks to the vision of this Administration, which has always believed in investee companies and invested resources to allow the stabilization of personnel. In particular, 1 million and 300 thousand euros, previously coming from the water tariff, were recovered and established as a fee. This, also thanks to the Metropolitan City, which is becoming a fundamental part of Castore. Today we can guarantee serenity and stability to 32 families. In recent months, we have worked to convey the true meaning of our commitment: to be at the service of citizens. We are the operational arm of the municipal administration.”
