Reggio, the return of the Constituencies. Decentralization takes shape

With 17 votes in favor and 13 against, the Council marks the start of a new season of participation. The 5 constituencies will redesign the institutional architecture in the name of decentralization and the relationships between the building and the territory. A complex, years-long journey has reached its finish line and is “summarised” in the work of the Council, in which the distances between the vision of the centre-left and that of the centre-right are once again reaffirmed. Work that takes place in the presence of a student representation of the “Volta” high school.
In a few hours of discussion, the Council approves the regulation on administrative decentralization, taking note of the resignation of the city councilor Saverio Pazzano with the subrogation of the new councilor Valentino Scordino, approving the real estate disposal plan for the three-year period 2026/2028.
A council projected towards the future administration and aimed at the May elections when the Council will be renewed and there will be a vote to choose the representatives of the 5 new mini municipalities. And so councilor Guido Rulli, who announced his membership of Fratelli d’Italia, councilor Antonino Minicuci, explains that his experience as an administrator comes to an end. The atmosphere heats up when some choices are stigmatized from the minority benches ranging from the 16 list to the territorial boundaries of the 5 constituencies.
