In the regional elections of 5 and 6 October in Calabria there will be a third candidate for the presidency. These are Francesco Toscano, lawyer, journalist originally from Gioia Tauro and founder of the “TV vision” YouTube channel, as well as national president of sovereign and popular democracy (DSP), the political movement founded together with Marco Rizzo. The candidacy was made official by Rizzo through a note released by the Dire Agency.

The former leader of the Communist Party, Rifondazione and Italian Communists did not spare criticism from the candidate of the 5 Star Movement, Pasquale Tridico: «Tridico – says Rizzo – is a bad candidate for Calabria. It is known for having increased the salary when led the INPS and, above all, for creating INPS Servizi Spa, a 100% controlled company from the institute, with over 3,000 employees. A useless and very expensive wheelchair for the community, without real functions in the provision of services ».

Rizzo then remarked on the choice to oppose Tridico and the Central Candidate the figure of Tuscan: “We will present our president, Francesco Toscano, Calabrian by Gioia Tauro, as a third candidate, but certainly higher than the two challengers of the right and left”. Tuscan, also known for his pro-Russe positions, will therefore run as an alternative to the two main sides, proposing himself as an autonomous voice of the Calabrian political landscape.
