An equipped dental clinic as a real professional studio, complete with an armchair, cutting -edge dental tools and a clientele composed largely of the elderly. Too bad that none of the alleged dentists had the qualification to practice the profession. This is what the carabinieri of the Rizziconi station discovered at the end of an investigation that revealed a serious case of health abusiveness in the heart of the plain of Gioia Tauro.
It all started with a routine control for a suspicious theft of electricity. An assessment that, with the passing of the days, has turned into a much wider investigation. Thanks to testimonies of patients, observation activities and chat analysis used to make appointments, the military managed to reconstruct the activity carried out in the abusive study.
In the room, apparently in order and equipped with sophisticated instruments, dental performances of various types were carried out: fillings, draws, application of prostheses and dental cleaning. Everything, however, in total illegality and without any hygienic-health guarantee, putting patient health to serious risk.
Coordinated by the Public Prosecutor of Palmi, led by the prosecutor Emanuele Crescenti, the carabinieri carried out an order from the investigating judge of the Court of Palmi, who ordered the seizure of the firm and applied the precautionary measure of the obligation to present the judicial police for the two subjects involved.
The operation confirms the constant commitment of the Carabinieri weapon in the contrast to abusive and potentially dangerous health practices, to protect legality and public health.
