Road safety, success for the Summer Campaign of the ASP of Messina: over 10 thousand ethilotests distributed

Great participation for the prevention campaign promoted by the Messina ASP in favor of road safety, which has received considerable consent between citizens and tourists during the summer. The initiative, coordinated by the Operational Unit of Education and Promotion to direct health by Chiara Schirò took place within the 26th edition of the national campaign “Holidays with bows” of the Antarctica center.

During the activities, 25,000 leaflets and posters were distributed and 10,400 Ethilotests, divided between 0.5 devices (intended for those who have for over three years) and 0.05 (for novice drivers, minors and professional drivers). The message launched was clear: prudence and compared to the guide they can save human lives.

The main appointments took place on 13 and 30 August with principles in the points of greatest transit: on board the Caronte & Tourist ships on the Strait of Messina and the boarding of the Liberty Lines Alliscophans in Messina and Milazzo, thanks to the support of the Nova Militia Christi associations, Misericordia and other local realities. In collaboration with the traffic police, information points have also been activated in the motorway service areas of Tremestieri and ban. Itinerant campers have reached strategic summer squares, such as Ganzirri and Torre Faro, while the awareness has also affected bathing shores and motorway toll booths, where the Sicilian Autostrade Consortium has released educational messages for a responsible guide.

Numerous municipalities involved, especially in the Nebrodi and in the Tyrrhenian belt, thanks to the support of mayors, local associations and pro loco. The campaign was able to count on the contribution of several partners, including Caronte & Tourist, traffic and municipal police, CAS, Liberty Lines, Civil Protection, AIFVS and the Pro Loco Union with offices in the centers of the province.

The one just ended is only the first phase: from mid -September new initiatives will start in particular to young people, with educational projects in secondary schools and the distribution of kits for the car rate car tax during evening events and in the night clubs of the territory.
