Two intense days, rich in comparison, sharing and Rotarian spirit, took place in Camigliello Silano, in the heart of the Sila. The workshop of District 2102 of Rotary International, led by the governor Dino De Marco, had as its title “traveling to the future” and represented a moment of organizational and design turning point for the Calabrian clubs.
The event saw the extraordinary participation of hundreds of members from every corner of the region, confirming the strong sense of belonging and enthusiasm that distinguishes Calabrian Rotary. Once again, the massive adhesion to the district moments organized by the governor De Marco testifies to the vitality of the Calabrian Rotarian fabric and the shared will to build together a future of service and innovation.
The members were active in the work tables and in moments of collective reflection. The main theme of the meeting: the district organization in homogeneous territorial areas to facilitate the realization of shared, more effective and high social impact projects.
“We have chosen the path of organizational innovation – said the governor Dino De Marco – because we strongly believe in the teamwork force and in the ability of the clubs to network. This new territorial model will allow us to be more present, more concrete and closer to the needs of our communities, enhancing the excellence of our land”.
During the District Meeting two important memoranda of understanding were signed for the collaboration with the “Historical Houses” Association and with the Huawei telecommunications giant; Also presented the “Call for Innovation” announcement. Finally, a budget of the Excellence Summer Stage was drawn that saw Calabrian students protagonists in Bern.
In the two -day Rotarian, the Sila, with its natural and cultural heritage, was also the protagonist of the experience. The participants were able to live a suggestive and convivial moment aboard the famous Sila train, immersed in the breathtaking landscapes of the Calabrian plateau. A symbolic “journey”, not only geographical, but also ideal: what Calabrian Rotary is carrying out towards a new season of planning, collaboration and growth.
The choice to combine moments of work with experiences of discovery of the territory has contributed to strengthening the links between the members, in an atmosphere of friendship, enthusiasm and sharing. The workshop represented a concrete opportunity to set new ideas in motion, confront good practices and plan together the future of Calabrian Rotary with particular attention to young people, merits and innovation.
