Today, at Monte di Pietà, starting from 6.30 pm, the Finestra SalinaDocFest – Messina will be held, a preview of the eighteenth edition of the SalinaDocFest scheduled from 11 to 15 September with the artistic direction of Giovanna Taviani, from this edition supported by Antonio Pezzuto. Freedom is the theme that brings the SalinaDocFest to its adulthood: 18 years of cinema on the island of Salina, for an edition that sees, in the Messina preview, a first development of the theme of Freedom. The evening in Messina, with free entry while places last, is organized thanks to the support of the City of Messina and the Metropolitan City. An exclusive tasting of Aeolian wines open to the public is planned. At 8.30pm, the mayor Federico Basile will hand over the special Sdf – Città Di Messina award to the film Stranizza d'amuri, the directorial debut of the actor Giuseppe Fiorello. The film will be screened at 9.30 pm in the presence of the Sicilian director and actor. Before the screening, at 9pm, a special public meeting will be held between Giuseppe Fiorello and Nichi Vendola on the theme: “The dream of loving each other without fear”. The meeting, moderated by the journalist and writer Lidia Tilotta of Tgr Rai Sicilia, will see the intervention of the film critic Nino Genovese.
