The truck driver who died this morning on board a Caronte & Tourist ship during the crossing of the Strait of Messina is.
His name was Salvatore Saraò, 61 years old, originally from the Grazia district, he would have been caught by a heart attack while he was on the “Pietro Mondello”, which started from Villa San Giovanni at 6.40 am. Apparently the Caronte employees would have launched the alarm when when leaving the ferry the truck conducted by Saraò remained stopped, blocking other means.
Saraò had been working for a well -known transport company from the Giammoro industrial area. Often he also moved abroad. He was returning from Massafra, Puglia, where the Messina beer is produced, the apple peace company, in fact, deals with the transport of the drink.
