Common front against gender violence.
A worrying phenomenon that involves women of all ages and social condition, often victims of partners or former companions. In response to this escalation – the last case just a week ago – a historic signature has been signed between the prosecutor of Paola, the Municipality of San Lucido and social services as well as associations in the area.
The most voices initiative between institutions and associations has rekindled the spotlight on the need to create a solid network, which shares information, skills and resources, to protect the victims and intervene in time.
An event full of interesting interventions on the issue of contrast to gender -based violence, which saw associations and institutions trace a path together. A first awareness meeting that saw the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the Municipality of San Lucido, the Association born in the South, the Roberta Lanzino Foundation and the Public Prosecutor of the Republic of Paola, for the activation of a municipal anti -violence desk and training on the theme of violence against women.
“It is only a beginning – explains the association Nate in the South – but from a dramatic fact that has shaken our community we managed to concretize a support network for women who intend to get out of violent contexts, only in this way can we think of reaching that cultural and social change we need, not only as women, but as a community.
