A tragic accident occurred yesterday evening, around 8 pm, in Scalea. To lose life, along an internal road of the town that connects to the Marcellina hamlet of Santa Maria del Cedro, a 34 -year -old centaur, Justin Alonzi, originally from Verbicaro.
The young man who has long been residing in Santa Maria was riding his bike which, for reasons under investigation, would have collided with a car. In the impact, the motorcyclist, from what he learned, would have been knocked violently on the asphalt. For some time, rescuers attempted to revive him with cardiac massages and defibrillator but there was nothing to do for him. The firefighters of the Scalea detachment, the Green Cross of Lattarico, the 118 healthcarers and the Carabinieri of the Scalea Company under the orders of Captain Andrea D’Angelo arrived on the spot. The entire community is in shock. The young man was well known in the area and his disappearance leaves a deep void between family friends and acquaintances. The authorities have started investigations to precisely reconstruct the dynamics of the accident and ascertain any responsibilities. The area has been cordoned off to allow rescue operations.
