Fourteen years of imprisonment, three more than those suffered at first instance: it is the request made by the accusation against the lawyer and former Senator of Forza Italia Giancarlo Pittelli at the end of the indictment in the appeal process “Rinascita Scott” in progress in Catanzaro.
The prosecutors of the Dda Catanzaro Annamaria Climaci and Antonio De Bernardo and the deputy attorney general Luigi Maffia, overall, asked for 206 convictions. Pittelli, accused of external competition in the mafia association, had been sentenced, in November 2023, to 11 years of imprisonment by the Court of Catanzaro.
Asked for the confirmation of 14 years of imprisonment for the lawyer Francesco Stilo, also accused of external competition, and for Michele Marinaro, a former Dia officer. The accusation then asked for 30 years in prison for the Boss of Limbadi (Vibo Valentia) Luigi Mancuso and for the boss of San Gregorio d’Ippona (Vibo Valentia) Saverio Rational.
For the former regional councilor Pietro Giamborino (1 year and 6 months at first instance) 20 years of imprisonment were requested. Six years instead for the Carabinieri Colonel Giorgio Naselli, at first instance sentenced to 2 years and 6 months. Last Tuesday, the judges of the Palmi Court sentenced Pittelli to 14 years for mafia association in the context of the “Mala Pigna” trial.
