Case sexist sites, solidarity and condemnation of women and CGIL Messina coordination
September 1, 2025 – In learning the news that even the city of Messina, also involved, without their knowledge, in the case of the photos “stolen and published in the sexist sites”, the Coordination of women, together with the CGIL Messina, expresses solidarity with them and all the women involved in the cases of virtual, public and private sites, where the publication and exchange of their images is implemented, for illegal purposes and without having the consent.
“If one of us is struck we feel affected by all, and the solidarity network is essential for support and to continue the path, already undertaken for many years, to break down these and all forms of gender -based violence. The questions we ask ourselves, in addition to how many women have been involved and above all how many men are participating in these events, is: how the paths that we do, can be truly effective, against all types of violence, from a cultural point of view, from a cultural point of view. “Having brought to light the existence of these realities, which unfortunately have been spread for many years, in different social areas, leads us to the reflection that for the defense of women’s rights, the existence and application of laws against gender -based violence cannot be enough and, in this case, against the illegal dissemination of images or video, but above all, it is necessary to continue those information and training paths necessary for cultural change, by all civil society, to recognize the forms of violence and act together Fight them, “says the Secretary General of the CGIL Messina Pietro Patti.
The women’s coordination and the CGIL Messina reiterate how important it is to act and field all the actions against a cultural method that confirms the gender violence still in place in our current society. The appeal to those who discover they are involved in one of these violent practices is to talk about it, with close people, with anti -violence centers, women’s coordinations, with the organs in charge, so that those listening protocols, denunciation, defense and safety can be implemented to be able to guarantee any protection and support.
