The world number 2 beats the American Learner Tien (27 ATP) in two sets with a score of 6-1, 6-2 in just over an hour of play. In the semi-final he will face the German Alexander Zverev, number 4 in the ATP ranking, who beat the French Arthur Fils, thirtieth seed, 6-2, 6-3.

The Italian: “Important performance, it will be tough with Zverev”

“Tien is a very talented player who will be here many times, at the beginning he was very aggressive, I’m happy with how I reacted, it was an important match for me.” Thus Jannik Sinner, immediately after the success in the Indian Wells quarter-finals against the American Tien, settled with an eloquent 6-1, 6-2. “We arrived here very early, it was very hot before the tournament started, there were very long training sessions to get the body used to it, we try to train on this aspect given the problems I had in Australia. I’m satisfied with how I prepared for the matches”, says the world number 2 who will face Zverev in the semi-final. “The next one will be a very difficult match, against Sasha on this pitch it will be very tough”, concludes Sinner.
