This afternoon, a team of the Fire Brigade from the Cosenza Command intervened in the municipality of Domanico to provide assistance to a person who had fallen into a cliff in an attempt to recover his dog.
Specialist rescue operations
Once on site, the Fire Brigade identified the man and the animal in a particularly inaccessible and difficult to access area. To reach them and guarantee recovery in safe conditions, the operational staff resorted to SAF (Alpine Fluvial Speleum) techniques and specialized speleological and fluvial-derived maneuvers.
The happy outcome of the recovery
At the end of the operations, the man and the dog were recovered and brought back to the main road. Neither of them suffered any consequences and were confirmed to be in good health.
The difficulties encountered in the intervention
The intervention proved to be particularly challenging due to the morphology of the places and the complexity of the recovery maneuvers necessary to operate safely.
