Funds for Life Projects for people with disabilities; Caregiver call of June 2022, Fna 2014/2015 funds for non-self-sufficient people (call February 2022); Includi Calabria call of 2022. Targeted interventions in favor of the most disadvantaged categories, an area in which according to the municipal councilor of the League, as well as president of the Social Policies commission of the Municipality, Antonietta D’Amico, the municipal body of Lamezia registers very serious delays.

According to the councilor, the resources related to the projects and calls for tenders “amount to several million euros but remain blocked, causing significant inconvenience to the recipients because there is no structured and coordinated plan.” With the imminent start of school activities and the pressing needs of the families involved, D’Amico announces the scheduling of a series of commission meetings for the next few days. The mayor Paolo Mascaro, the councilor for social policies Antonietta Rizzo, the director of the sector Virginia Bufano, and the associations representing the families of disabled minors will be invited to these meetings.

The Northern League councilor is keen to point out that “the commission is intended as a place for consultation between the third sector, the offices of the Municipality, Opis (Permanent Observatory for School Inclusion) and Asp (Provincial Health Authority). It is our duty – concludes D’Amico – to ensure that the rights of the most vulnerable are respected and that families can count on concrete support from the institutions”.
The councilor for social policies of the Municipality, Tonia Rizzo, responds to the alarm raised by the Northern League councilor, stating: «I have not yet had the pleasure of personally meeting councilor D’Amico; I know her commitment to social issues but we have never interacted face to face». The representative of the Mascaro council admits that the offices of the department have recorded delays in carrying out the amount of work under their jurisdiction, due to the lack of staff.
