Starting from 2 pm tomorrow, Friday 29 August, the provincial road 55 “San Martino di Spadafora” will be temporarily closed to transit at the motorway overpass no. 3
The provision concerns both senses, at the height of the 0+700 kilometer, and will remain in force until the completion of the expected activities. To limit the inconvenience, the metropolitan administration has prepared provisional signs and alternative paths.
“Road safety and the quality of the infrastructures represent priorities for our administration” – said the metropolitan mayor Federico Basile – “the collaboration with the Sicilian Autostrade Consortium allows to combine extraordinary maintenance interventions with the aim of minimizing the impact on the daily activities of users”.
Cavalcavia n. 3, which crosses the A20 Messina -Palermo motorway, had been seized in 2020 due to serious structural critical issues. Demolished and reconstructed with an investment of over 2.5 million euros of the development and cohesion fund, it was definitively reopened last August 8. 80 meters long and made of steel and concrete, the new deck is designed to ensure higher safety standards and functionality.
