A certain rift continues to spread within the majority, at least according to yet another “desertion” among the benches, this time in the session of the First Permanent Council Commission (General Affairs and Personnel) which was supposed to meet yesterday to return to the topic of taxi regulation and which instead – despite the presence of some taxi drivers – was deserted. Better: the only one present from the majority was Giancarlo Nicotera, while for the opposition there were Bernadette Serratore, Marialucia Raso, Fabrizio Muraca and Lidia Vescio as listeners. Also present was the president of the commission, Massimo Cristiano, over whom a certain discontent clearly continues to reign among the majority given that the latter, no later than a month ago, had reiterated in no uncertain terms the opportunity for the councilors of Futuro Nazionale to leave their positions as presidents of the two commissions (in addition to Cristiano for the first, Carmine Villella presides over the seventh, youth policies). Cristiano himself’s intervention on his social channels was heartfelt: «the political disputes cannot fall on 37 families, yet another lack of a quorum, an irresponsible attitude! Institutional offices are not deserted to strike someone politically, especially when the interests of citizens are at stake. Yesterday (Tuesday, ed.) in the presence of the taxi drivers, we had agreed to continue the work today. Today, however, the majority councilors deserted the Commission, despite the presence of the category. At this point I ask myself: were some people elected to protect the interests of citizens or to oppose us from morning to night?”.
