The Calabria Region, through the Department of Sport, continues to invest concretely in the new generations and the promotion of healthy lifestyles.
3,130 young Calabrians are between 14 and 24 years old who will benefit from the 500 euro sports voucher provided for by the initiative “Calabria for young people”promoted by the Region in collaboration with Sport and Health.
With the official publication on the website www.sportesalute.eu of the list of beneficiaries, the second phase of the initiative starts now: the children will be able to start sports and physical activities for free in the 649 associations and amateur sports clubs of Calabria who have joined the project.
The initiative is part of a strategic action strongly desired by the regional council to make sport accessible to everyone and fight sedentary lifestyle, social dispersion and inequality between territories.
“The Calabria Region has decided to focus decisively on young people and sports such as tools for social cohesion, prevention and well -being – says the regional councilor for sport Caterina Capponi -. The great participation success shows that there is a strong demand for sport, aggregation and health in our land. The Department of Sport is working constantly to actually support the Calabrian sports world, from families to associations, so that no boy is left behind. Economic help, but an investment in talents, body and spirit of our young people “.
“Over 3 thousand vouchers. Compared to the first edition -Capponi also underlines -, the beneficiaries are more than doubled, with over 10,000 applications presented in a few days. This increase testifies not only the appreciation for the project, but also the vitality of the regional sports fabric, increasingly protagonist in the educational and training courses of the young Calabrians.
The Calabria Region thus confirms the centrality of sport in public policies aimed at young people, strengthening the commitment to a balanced and sustainable development of the territories through the spread of the culture of movement, health and participation “.
