The Castrovillari students are at Abu Dhabi airport and are about to board for Milan Malpensa. Mirko Pio Frascino and Azzurra D’Atri are two students from the Mattei high school campus in Castrovillari who were stuck in Dubai where they were taking part in the extracurricular project proposed by the World student connection. They are leaving together with other Calabrian and Italian students who were there for study purposes. The boys are well and as confirmed by the head teacher of the «Mattei» high school campus, Elisabetta Cataldi, they have demonstrated, as always, a great sense of responsibility and maturity.
«We’re about to leave. If all goes well we have the flight scheduled for early afternoon with expected arrival in Milan Malpensa in the late afternoon. Then I will have to take another flight to Lamezia Terme, where I should arrive late in the evening. Personally I feel very relieved, a little calmer, but I’m not singing victory.” This was stated by Ansa by telephone by one of the two students from the “Mattei” scientific high school in Castrovillari who have been stranded, together with 200 other Italian students, in Dubai since last Saturday.
«Let’s say – he continues – that I will be 100% relaxed when I get off the plane and find myself at Milan Malpensa. In that moment I will be able to say: it’s finally over. Now, on this other flight, there will certainly be, there is, a bit of apprehension, a bit of anxiety. But we hope that this last step will also be overcome.”
