A young man caused chaos in air traffic at Stuttgart airport with a bomb threat, which later turned out to be false, blocking thousands of people travelling. Dpa reports it. Due to police intervention in the security area of the airport, air traffic had to be suspended for around an hour and a half, from 4.30pm to 6pm, the federal police said.
The twenty-four-year-old, at the end of the security checks, told an airport employee that he had a bomb in his luggage. Federal police then had to evacuate terminals in the security area and suspend arriving and departing flights, a spokeswoman said. The search of the affected area made it possible to exclude the existence of a real danger, according to what was reported by the federal police. The measure was then revoked, air traffic was gradually restored and checks on passengers were reopened.
