A 35 -year -old of foreign origins arrested in the act of a forest fire crime. The man, an agricultural laborer, was surprised by the carabinieri while setting the fire in a rural area of that municipality, characterized by the presence of Mediterranean scrub and secular oaks, and upon arrival of the patrol, he would also have attempted in vain to move away aboard his bicycle, trying to get rid of the ignition, recovered between the vegetation and subjected to seizure.
The prompt intervention of the military of the weapon and the subsequent extinguishing operations by the firefighters have averted more serious consequences, also in consideration of the strong wind, limiting the extension of the fire to about a hectare and a half of vegetation.
At the outcome of the investigations, the person was arrested in the act of crime for the hypothesis of forest fire and, at the disposal of the judicial authority, subject to the measure of house arrest. During the validation hearing held today, the judge applied precautionary measure of house arrest.
