“We welcome the announcement of a renewed ministerial commitment for the Archaeological Park and the Museum of Capo Colonna. It was time that this symbolic place of our history would return to the center of the national agenda.”

Thus Antonello Talico, regional councilor, comments on the recent statements of Minister Giuli, who announced the public presentation of the relaunch plan, underlining the will to invest permanently in Calabria.

“I can only share the spirit of the initiative. It has long been prompt attention for Capo Colonna, and in recent months I had asked the Director Demma – with which I hope the dialogue with the territory could become productive – to give real priority to the relaunch of the park, which represents one of the greatest cultural and identity resources of Calabria.”

Talerico, which has long followed the question, recalls that the enhancement of the archaeological site requires immediate interventions, otherwise we continue to prevent it from developing and tourist exploitation, so we lose economies for the territory.

“Capo Colonna needs resources, staff, planning. We need efficient management, a modern tourist promotion, better connections, openness to the territory. Above all, continuity is needed: one-day lights are not enough, it takes a medium-long period strategy.”

And he concludes:

“If you really want to inaugurate a new season for Calabrian culture, Capo Colonna can and must be one of the flags to boast of as Calabrian and southern citizens. I am, as always, not to make catwalks but to supervise and support those who have the duty to finally contribute to a real result and therefore real works.”
