Teaching rankings in Calabria: Confinia Crotone asks for transparency and legality

In Calabria, a story is being consumed that shakes consciences and seriously puts the trust of citizens and teachers at risk in the entire school recruitment system. As a Confederation and School School Confinale Crotone we cannot keep silent: dozens of teachers have denounced us anomalies that shout indignation.

Altered rankings, scores attributed arbitraryly, awards even granted to those who have passed competitions for teaching classes not related or foreseen by the calls. In some cases they are 12.5 extra points, capable of upsetting careers and dreams, trampling those who followed the rules with correctness, commitment and sacrifice. This is not just an injustice: it is a wound for legality.

Ministerial Decree no. 255/2023 and Annex B of Decree no. 205/2023 are unequivocal: the additional score is up to those who have passed a competition in the specific competition class. The administrative jurisprudence has also reiterated it for years, rejecting any arbitrary or “creative” interpretation. Yet, in the face of all this, those who should supervise keep silent. A deafening silence, which weighs like a boulder and risks transforming into complicity.

For this we address a direct and strong appeal to Minister Valditara, to the Calabria regional school office and the regional authorities: there is no more time to waste. We need immediate, decisive and authoritative intervention to restore truth, justice and transparency. Those who govern the school cannot assist from afar: it must be the guarantor of the law, defender of the merit and guardian of equity. The teachers do not ask for favors, but respect for what is right. They do not seek shortcuts, but the certainty that their commitment is not trampled on by distorted rules. Every day of silence generates distrust, inequality and anger.

The Crotone conference will not stop. We will not be simple spectators, but protagonists of a battle of dignity. We will be at the side of every penalized teacher, we will collect evidence, we will support appeals, we will report without fear. Our voice will be firm, constant, inflexible. Because bringing this system back to legality tracks is not an option: it is a moral and civil duty.

The future of the Calabrian school does not defend itself with empty promises or with embarrassed silences, but with courage, responsibilities and concrete actions. We say it forcefully: the conference will always be where it is needed, without compromise, without steps back.
