The first time on the Ariston stage he went up in 2015, competing among the young people. Ten years later, and a lot of apprenticeship later, Serena Brancale -polystrumenist, performer, composer, flagship of the Italian Nu-Soul/Jazz abroad-, has a solid musical training, e has conquered a place among the big namesin the wake of successes that have become viral who made it popular as “cod” and “aunt”.

«Ten years ago I was a girl who sang a very difficult song like” floating “. I was less structured and less mature: I lived the festival like a playground – the 35 -year -old Apulian singer -songwriter tells Ansa, who sweeps with skill between jazz, funk and soul -. Today I am a little conscious, but I am serene, I think of the performance as if it were a normal concert. I live everything that is happening trying to have fun and with “anema and core” », he says playing with the title of the song he brings in the race. “I have everything to earn, especially in love.”

The piece celebrates the most authentic essence of love, which is expressed without reserve and without fear of getting bare. “The Anema and Core title recalls a typical Neapolitan expression, as well as being a tribute to one of the artists who inspired me most, Pino Daniele. A few simple, instinctive, belly, but powerful words », explains Serena Brancale who wrote the text by moving between Italian and Bari, to tell each other as much as possible with sincerity. «By now the dialect is also cleared to the festival. And for me singing in Bari makes me feel calm and makes me feel at home ».

The link with its origins wanted to reiterate it also for the evening of the covers, when it will be accompanied on stage by Salentina Alessandra Amoroso. Together they will sing “If I Ain’t Got You” by Alicia Keys. «The choice fell on a song that anyone who sings in life has certainly done it. I went to fish so far to pay homage to something that was international ». Three women protagonists, therefore, “but there was no intention of wanting to emphasize Girl Power at all costs. After all, I have never felt penalized as a woman. I always went straight on my way ».
