The news is the mayor Giuseppe Falcomatà, together with the city councilor delegated to urban decor and parks and gardens, Massimiliano Merenda. “The goal is the urban and environmental regeneration of the area between the Calopinace Fiumara, the South Linear Park, the Fiumara Sant’Agata and the Source area (white sands) – clarified the mayor – the project provides: redevelopment of urban green, furnishings, roads and cycle paths; Creation of areas equipped for sport, gardens and complex historical squares; road maintenance interventions and enhancement of cyclopedonal access to the sea. In particular: at the mouth of the Fiumara Sant’Agata, environmental works and paths for the use of the area will be created; In the garden of Fata Morgana a degraded area will be redeveloped, transforming it into the public garden on the South promenade and a parking lot will be created; Cycle and pedestrian access will be enhanced at the mouth of the Calopinace through the recovery of the railway underpass; On via Pugliese and via Gebbione there are ordinary and extraordinary road maintenance interventions; Along the left and right arguments of the Calopinace, the flower beds will be arranged and redeveloped, as well as those along the high scrolling road ».
