The framework agreement between the University Peloritano and the “Hebrew University” of Jerusalem dates back to March 30, 2021, when at the request, signed by Professor Giovanna D’Amico (Department of ancient and modern civilizations), asked the then rector Salvatore Cuzzocrea to sign the agreement, in the context of international cooperation between academic institutions. And everything was done over a couple of months.
After 4 years, that is, last July, over 260 teachers of the University of Messina addressed to the rector Giovanna Spatari, the academic Senate and the University’s Board of Directors an open letter, asking that “unime interrupted any relationship with the” Hebrew University “of Jerusalem”. Starting from the events of Gaza, the signatory teachers used very hard words, speaking of “final solution, organized by the state of Israel against Gaza and its population.
