Reinforcements arrive. This was announced by the president of the Region, Roberto Occhiuto. “Since this morning i 120 Cuban doctors arrived in Calabria on August 4th – after following an intensive Italian course at theUnical of Cosenza – have taken service in the hospitals of our Region. They have been welcomed in a splendid way by their Italian colleagues and now they will begin a period of coaching for their gradual integration into our healthcare reality. Above all, they will help us to ease the pressure in the Emergency Departments, but they will also be very useful for making the waiting lists of Orthopedics, Radiology, Pediatrics, Gynecology flow faster. Once again, I thank these doctors who have arrived in Calabria from the other side of the world, for the challenge they have decided to take up, and for the professionalism and humanity they have already shown in these first few weeks among us. Welcome and good luck.”
