Artificial intelligence that doesn’t scare. A new horizon of creativity to be embraced with enthusiasm and to be considered yet another frontier to be broken down in the society of advanced knowledge and knowledge. But above all, artificial intelligence as an inalienable tool, the fulcrum of new business and professional processes. They identified the suggestive “Antonino Murmura” conference room of the Valentianum, in Vibo, accountants and chartered accountants led by Antonino Daffinàto analyze, together with the labor consultants, the category of lawyers and the Chamber of Commerce of Catanzaro-Vibo-Crotone, a very burning and extremely stimulating topic, for young and old.
An issue, addressed by various experts at a national level, on which Tonino Daffinà, a long-standing accountant in the provincial territory, wanted to focus at the opening of the proceedings, in the presence of sector experts and institutional authorities.
“The impact with artificial intelligence – Daffinà began – cannot and must not scare us. On the other hand, it now affects all fields of knowledge and every professional category. Consequently, space will be made – or rather, it is already doing so – even among chartered accountants, becoming a tool that we will have to learn to use as best as possible, sharing the advantages that it will inevitably bring to our category”. In short, banishment to that rather obsolete idea according to which innovation can in some way have a negative impact on professions. Rather, “we will all need to be aware of the fact that from here on out we will be tax consultants more than anything else. A transition towards a sort of new deal which will be easier for young people – there’s no point in hiding it – while the others will have to adapt and live with it without being impressed”.
Daffinà did not hesitate to flash back to the radical upheavals that have fundamentally changed the world of professions from the 1980s to today. “Forty years ago – underlined the president of the Accountants and Chartered Accountants of Vibo – when the first computers appeared, we were all very worried about the fact that accounting, then done by hand, was subjected to new telematic and IT processes; around 2000, when the internet suddenly invaded our studies, we were very curious and at the same time worried about understanding the effects of working online. Well, in the first case and in the other, we can today say that they are digital tools and computer networks that no one could do without today. Well – concluded Daffinà – it will be the same in the case of artificial intelligence. In a few years, we won’t even be able to give it up anymore. Indeed, we will make the best use of it to guarantee better services to our customers.”
Considerations capable of significantly stimulating a debate, moderated by Vincenzo Morelli, which also saw young people as protagonists and enriched the reports of the experts, starting with Carla Angius. “Artificial intelligence – underlined Aurora Russo, president of the Young Accountants – represents a strategic lever, an opportunity for growth. It is a phenomenon in the face of which professionals and businesses cannot remain still. We can imagine her, therefore, as a valid and hyperactive collaborator who however will not offer finished products. Hence the need for human value, for the professional, for the qualified entrepreneur who will nevertheless remain – concluded the young president of the Vibo Accountants – a central figure”.
Contributors to the discussion, which lasted throughout today’s morning, were, among others, the national councilor of accountants Fabrizio Escheri, who focused on “algorithms”, Francesco Biacca, president of the innovative Tertiary and ICT sector of Confindustria, Alessia Longo, Digital promoter of the Catanzaro-Crotone-Vibo Chamber of Commerce; and again, the regional coordinator of the Accountants Stefano Poeta and the president of the Rotary Club Hipponion Vibo, Eleonora Cannatelli. Also present were Antonio Repaci, Cnocec councilor, and Luisa Santoro, councilor of the Municipality of Vibo.
