A festival that becomes itinerant and celebrates culture in all its expressions in one of the most suggestive areas of Sicily. The 69th Tindari Festival for the first time is directed by a great artist, the English songwriter Mario Incudine. In two months-he will close on August 30-a very rich offer with 34 events, 11 national first, 8 municipalities involved, 2 gala evenings between classic and contemporary theater, without neglecting author music and symphonic concerts, modern dance and site-specific performance. Location of the shows will be the Greek theater, the area of the sanctuary and the most suggestive places in Tindari and the neighboring municipalities of Sant’Angelo di Brolo, Gioiosa Marea, Librizzi, Oliveri, Raccuia, San Piero Patti, Piraino and Floresta.
“I liked the idea of widening the event to all the municipalities of the old Archaeological Park of Tindari to give the feeling of a dynamic territory – he tells us Incudine – of a festival that comes out of the Greek theater and opens to other equally beautiful locations, such as Gioiosa Guardia, the Saracen Torre of Piraino or the Castle of Raccuia. Tindari is not only the theater, it is also the village of Tindari, the historic center of Patti, the Paglia theater, the San Francesco convent. But above all those municipalities that with Tindari borders and have a similarity of intent that can enhance the beauty of the places. We are not interested in the square of these areas, but the small treasure chest: an unused place that must be discovered with the festival to enhance the suburbs, making the public live little beaten areas, even in the neighboring territories “.

A territory that therefore moves, following a cultural itinerary, with free appointments to give the various municipalities the opportunity to host the public. After the first shows – including the opening “Archimedes – the loneliness of a genius” with the same Instrendine and “Mistrica”, Roy Paci concert with the bands of the Municipalities of the Archaeological Park – the Festival will continue today at the Greek Theater (7 pm) with the national first “Ecuba” first, of which Incudine edited the music, performed on stage with the master Antonio Vasta. A project of art and social inclusiveness on the famous text of Euripides, promoted by the Ligurian public theater with the Messina Association of Arteventi of Daniela Ursino and the direction of Sergio Maifredi. The Festival is organized by the Municipality of Patti with the patronage of the Ministry of Culture and Department of Tourism, Sport and Entertainment of the Sicilian Region, and various local associations.
