“It is a cowardly act that offends consciences and damages one of the structures that represents historical excellence in social, educational and sporting terms. A shame that affects the healthy and laborious city that, every day, works and acts for the good of our community ». This is what the mayor Giuseppe Falcomatà says after, unknown, they have set a fire to the structures of the Reggio Junior center of Sant’Antonio, a reality committed, for many years, to promote the values of sport through the formation and growth of the youth football teams.

The mayor addressed a thought to the managers and young people of the sports club: «To the Quartullo family, to the children and families of the Reggio Junior Center, my highest feelings of closeness and the utmost solidarity of the municipal administration arrive. Even more, we will be at their side in such a difficult moment that it will not have to bend the efforts of those who, with dedication, passion and sacrifice work to make the territory better and protect the new generations “.

«I am convinced – continues Falcomatà – that, as soon as possible, the investigators will be able to give a face and a name to those who have stained with such a reusable criminal gesture. Once again, unfortunately, we have to deal with an ignoble gesture, made by unknown and foolish hands, which hurts not only a sporting reality, but an educational, social and cultural point of reference for many Reggini “.
