The investigating judge Tiziana Leanza will decide on the “challenge” of the Messina freemasons which in recent months had caused quite a stir. This after the complaint presented to the Prosecutor’s Office by the Messina notary Silverio Magno together with another “brother” alleging stalking, defamation and violation of correspondence against three other “brothers”.
The well-known professional had branded everything as a smear campaign against him orchestrated after his candidacy as “great orator” for the renewal of the leaders of the Grand Orient of Italy in March 2024. The complaint, presented against three exponents of Freemasonry, had triggered a series of investigative investigations by the Prosecutor’s Office, and the three subjects indicated by Magno had been entered in the register of suspects. At the conclusion of the investigations against the three “brothers”, however, a request for dismissal was presented by the Prosecutor’s Office (“please order the dismissal of the proceedings”), which was opposed by the lawyers of the notary Magno, filing a classic opposition to the dismissal (“the request for dismissal appears erroneous in underestimating the defamatory scope of the conduct attributed to the three suspects”).
For this reason, among the various “arguments”, investigating judge Leanza has scheduled a chamber hearing to be held in June for a global assessment of the situation.
