The final vote, by secret ballot, approved the measure which now passes to the Senate for consideration.

A second after the vote with which the center-right gave the first green light to the electoral law in the Chamber, the celebrations of the majority deputies began, especially among the Fratelli d’Italia benches. Full in the chamber, as for the decisive votes, the center-right deputies stood up, amidst applause and handshakes. Just before the vote, the FdI parliamentarians had stood up several times during the speech of the party’s organizational manager, Giovanni Donzelli, one of the harshest towards the opposition. In particular, the deputies underlined with applause and standing ovations the passage on Giorgia Meloni and her history of militancy who, first as a young activist, then as a minister and finally at Palazzo Chigi.

Opposition deputies displayed protest signs in the Chamber with the words: “Meloni has failed”, “electoral law = scam law”, “the majority no longer exists: at home”. The clerks are intervening to collect them.
