Istat data on retail trade relating to June 2026 confirm the resilience of the Italian business system. Despite the slight cyclical decline in sales (-0.1% in value and volume), the comparison with the same month of 2025 highlights growth of 3.1% in value and 1.9% in volume, supported above all by the non-food goods sector and the strong expansion of e-commerce. For Francesco Napoli, councilor of the CNEL, «commercial companies continue to demonstrate the ability to adapt, investing in innovation, quality of services and new distribution models. The growth recorded on an annual basis represents an encouraging sign, but requires policies capable of consolidating the competitiveness of the production system”.
