The Amantea community was quite shocked by the incident. Yesterday Pietro Perri, a profound expert on the land of Calabria, asked for help on social media to help a little dog dear to him named Iro, who was hit on the paw by the shot of a pellet gun.
The rescue operation was immediate. The dog, stabled by a relative of Pietro Perri himself, was taken to a veterinary practice, where an x-ray made it possible to understand what happened. Hence the request for help, including financial help, to allow Iro to be operated on after being injured by an individual yet to be identified.
In a few minutes the alarm raised generated indignation and reflection, bringing to mind the sad story of the big dog Angelo, who died of torture in Sangineto.
Many Amanteans have come forward to support the recovery of the little dog, with the hope that the police can shed full light on what happened.
Unfortunately, for some months now, between Amantea and Campora San Giovanni, “infamous and ignoble acts” against dogs have been occurring systematically: from poisoned morsels of meat to those containing nails and screws in an escalation of wickedness which with the shooting on Iro has probably reached its highest level.
