The Vicenza prosecutor asked for life imprisonment for Umberto Pietrolungo, 58 years old, Calabrian of Cetraro (Cosenza) already detained for other crimes because he was considered the killer of the spouses Pierangelo Fioretto and Mafalda Begnozzi. A dual crime occurred in Vicenza on February 25, 1991. The request arrived during the preliminary hearing before judge Antonella Crea.
