The carabinieri of the Petilia Policastro station concluded an articulated environmental investigation, denouncing the prosecutor of Crotone six subjects held responsible for illegal abandonment of waste. The activity started following the discovery of a vast abusive landfill at the former municipal ecological island.
Through an in -depth analysis of video surveillance videos, the military managed to identify distinct episodes. The investigation thus made it possible to report 4 local entrepreneurs, accused of illegally downloaded special waste that is not dangerous such as mattresses, sofas and bodywork parts, coming from their commercial activities; 2 private citizens for abandoning domestic waste.
Any environmental prescription report was notified, which led to the restoration of the places by the managers. The Carabinieri Station Command of Petilia Policastro has also urged the adoption by the Municipality of more stringent measures to complete the remediation of the site.
The investigations, in a constant action to contrast the environmental crimes, are coordinated by the Crotone prosecutor led by Domenico Guarascio.
