On the night between Saturday and Sunday, the local police of Reggio Calabria carried out an extraordinary control service of the night territory. The activities directed by the commander have benefited from 15 overall units, a station and mobile, 4 cars, 4 ethylometric precursors, two ethylometers and a drug test.
About 230 vehicles were checked and subjected to ethylometric verification over 90 drivers. Of these 8 they were in a state of alcoholic intoxication with every consequent penalty and administrative sanction. Of the eight transgressors two are minors conducting two -wheeled vehicles with an alcohol content of 4 times higher the law limits. During the services, over 50 parked vehicles were also sanctioned for irregular parking in the areas of the center also in defiance of the rules that protect the right to mobility of weak users of the road (pedestrian areas, intersections etc.)
On the commercial and administrative police checks, two merchants were sanctioned that sold illegally on the public area on the Falcomatà promenade. For one of them, the seizure of goods (about a thousand pieces) was also triggered because it is without any authorization title. Furthermore, both were sanctioned for violation of the urban police regulations and loaded the urban daspo.
Finally, as part of a parallel traffic police activity, a road accident was detected whose dynamics, under investigation, appears somewhat daring. The vehicle involved, in fact, was stuck in the pedestrian ramp located in Piazza Sant’Agostino in the adjacency of the homonymous church.
It is useful to observe the age of drivers in a state of alcoholic intoxication almost all under the age of 30 years of particular alarm, and two, as mentioned, minors of the 18 years.
The activities, carried out within the national and transnational program Focus’ Ndrangheta, are framed in the strengthening device of the garrison of the territory against the mala movida to protect free competition. For the subjects criminally referred to the presumption of innocence therefore the accuser hypotheses will have to be examined and confirmed by the judge of the hearing.
