The metropolitan deputy mayor Carmelo Versace Has delivered the new multipurpose field that will serve the “Zaleuco” scientific high school and the entire community of Locri. Upon formal delivery of the keys, in the hands of school director Carmela Rita Serafino and in the presence of mayor of Locri, Giuseppe FontanaCarmelo Versace said he was «very satisfied with the work completed by the metropolitan administration, which represents yet another positive result of the executive led by the mayor Giuseppe Falcomatà in terms of spending of Pnrr funds and improvement of school and sports buildings of the territory”.

«Now – said Versace – students have at their disposal a modern, welcoming facility, full of every comfort to practice physical activities, socialize and grow together. The multipurpose field is added to the gym and will allow both five-a-side football and volleyball to be practiced.”

«The investment of 150 thousand euros – he added – made it possible to create the synthetic grass flooring, to install the new volleyball system and the lighting system. At the same time, the company in charge of the work took steps to dismantle the disused appliances and clean and remove the vegetation that had grown spontaneously along the perimeter of the construction site. In short, a wonderful project was completed and, for this, I can only thank the manager of the Construction sector, Giuseppe Mezzatesta and his staff.”

«In just sixty days – concluded the deputy mayor – the institution has managed to equip the school and the entire Locrian community with a playing field which can truly become a new meeting point and reference for the boys and girls of the district . Also for this reason it was very significant to receive the appreciation of the mayor Fontana and the school director Serafino. I extend my heartfelt thanks to them for what they are doing for the area and for one of the most important schools in the metropolitan area.”
