In view of the imminent start of the school year, the Municipality of Messina has already activated the procedures to allow the disbursement of the good books intended for first and second grade secondary school students belonging to low -income families. The initiative follows the agreement reached between the Sicilian Region and Anci Sicilia, which allows the Municipalities to anticipate the sums to families entitled, pending the completion of the administrative and accounting procedures related to the approval of the report.
“Once again, the Municipality of Messina proves ready and concrete in intercepting and implementing all the measures useful to support citizens. In this case, anticipating the good book means giving families the opportunity to serenely deal with the start of the school year, without serious bureaucratic delays. Our administration is close to the world of school and works to remove obstacles and guarantee equal opportunities for access to education,” said Mayor Federico Basile.
“We immediately prepared the necessary documents – added the Councilor for Public Education Liana Cannata – so that the beneficiary families can receive the good books in time for the start of the lessons. It is a concrete commitment of this administration for the right to study, support for school and attention to the needs of citizenship”.
