The Municipal Council of Rende has given the green light to the candidacy of the restoration project of the Norman-Swabian Castle to the public notice of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers for the assignment of the eight per thousand quota directly managed by the state, for the year 2026. A significant political-administrative step, which marks the will of the Principe administration to accelerate the recovery of one of the most important historical symbols of the city. The resolution, approved on 29 September with a favorable vote of all the councilors present, establishes membership of the “Conservation of cultural heritage” category and the approval of the PFTE relating to the intervention called “Conservative restoration, structural consolidation, redevelopment and museum setup of the Norman-Swabian Castle of Rende”. The project, prepared by the Public Works sector, involves a total investment of 2,999,474.03 euros, entirely requested as a state contribution.
