The Assembly of members of the “Maria Rosaria Sessa” press club of Cosenza, meeting in the headquarters of “Sport and Health” in Piazza Matteotti, elected the new board of directors, also renewing the board of auditors and the board of arbitrators. The elective assembly, which was very well attended, was chaired, in accordance with the Statute, by the outgoing President Franco Rosito who delivered the end-of-term report in front of the members. Rosito’s speech opened with a memory of Michelino Braiotta, late member of the “Sessa” club, who passed away on 2 September and who chaired the elective assembly in May 2022. Rosito recalled that the press club has reached its 21st year of activity and that it is made up of 109 members. “The club – he stated – continues to exist to be close to the community of journalists, young and old, who have intended to embrace our cause, but we always need everyone’s help to continue to do even better. The club – the outgoing President again recalled – is, beyond the elective positions, everyone’s heritage”. The various initiatives promoted by the club in the last three years were then retraced, thanks to the relationships that have increasingly consolidated with the institutions, the regional and national Order of Journalists. “Our group – remarked Franco Rosito – has become a point of reference in our city and also in a good part of the province, thanks, in the latter case, to the collaboration with the Pollino press club, chaired by Mario Alvaro and to the availability of many members located throughout the area. The club has always aimed to accompany the professional path of the youngest and to help even the less young, listening, with the utmost attention, to everyone’s requests, without exception”. Among the events that have characterized the last three years, Rosito recalled last year’s evening event, for twenty years of activity, enhanced by the presence of the national President of the Order Carlo Bartoli and the naming of a public garden in Rende after Maria Rosaria Sessa. The club has also been very active on the solidarity front, through participation and direct support in various charitable initiatives of great social importance, even outside the territory. As well as within the schools, the club organized a series of meetings, the last of which, at the Polo Brutium in via Popilia, had as guest and protagonist the Dazn commentator, Ricky Buscaglia who spoke with the students, also in the presence of the regional President of the Order, Giuseppe Soluri. In closing his speech, the outgoing president Rosito thanked the members of the outgoing board who no longer intended to propose their candidacy again, Franco Mollo, Raffaele Zunino and Franco Lorenzo. At the end of the end-of-term report of the outgoing President and the report of the member of the board of arbitrators, Enzo Pianelli, the assembly elected, by acclamation, after having taken note of the candidatures expressed by the members, the new board of directors which will still include the journalists Franco Rosito, Monica Perri, Franca Ferrami and Giuseppe Di Donna. The new entries to the board of directors concern, however, the journalists Enzo Pianelli, Roberto Barbarossa and Antonio Lopez. We then moved on to the election, again by acclamation, of the new board of auditors. Francesco Mannarino and Romolo Cozza confirmed. New entry by Rino Giovinco. For the board of arbitrators, alongside the reconfirmed Franco Segreto, in Gianluca Pasqua and Carmelita Brunetti, with Dino Gardi outgoing.
