Piazza Matrice in Fiumedinisi hosted the new stage of “The valleys of myth and music”. After the greetings of the president of the Gal Taormina Peloritani Antonio Bonfiglio, who together with the director of the Piano Office Beatrice Bonfiglio underlined the positive feedback recorded in the 26 stages already completed which have made it possible to make known and enhance the territories and the winemaking culture of the municipalities that are part of the Gal. The mayor Giovanni De Luca in thanking the members of the local action group has announced that Fiumedinisi will return to host the headquarters of the Gal, to start new initiatives such as the one in progress.
The mayor Cateno De Luca focused his intervention on the importance of returning to the roots to build a future respectful of time and the now neglected resources: “The journey of” The valleys of myth and music “today made a stop here in Fiumedinisi, the place where the Gal Taormina Peloritani was born and where it will return with a great project also dedicated to the school of ancient crafts. Valuing the territory and our excellence and traditions is the real bet. The challenge restarts from Fiumedinisi: keeping our identity and transforming it into opportunities for growth and development ».

The protagonist of the showcooking the chef Paolo Romeo who proposed two dishes. An “orange on the plate” and a “cubotto” of rice, sea urchins, lemon foam, mass shrimp and fried rocket.
Space as always to the free tastings that made the evening even more special: from the lemon granita and the strawberry of the Guglotta bar, to the sausages sausage of the Nucita company, from the morsels with porchetta of the slaughterhouse puglisi to the macaroni and the cuzzole with tomato of Guido Cascio up to the chopped meatballs with breadcrumbs proposed by rusti and tip. Traditional flavors were accompanied by the wine of the Laudini winery. The evening ended dancing to the sound of Lello Analfino and the T-Schiestar who inflamed the square until evening.

To precede the stage of Fiumedinisi were those of Castelmola and Roccavaldina.

Castelmola, one of the most fascinating villages in Sicily, saw the chef Pasquale Caliri enchant the public with his “chocolate standard”, a surprising and original dish that has reinterpreted a Sicilian classic in an innovative key, demonstrating once again how the kitchen can be a story and identity. Following, the engaging show of I Molese while the houses of the taste welcomed visitors with an authentic food and wine route: the bakery in Vastedda with bread, oil and cuzzole, the Pitti di Stefania Pasticceria with fresh ricotta cannoli, the puzzolo butcher with the sandwich at the Sicilian Scottona meatball, in FintoDda with the macaroni at the sauce of the sauce of the grandmother and Cave with the Macaroni alla Vecchia Castelmola. An evening made possible thanks to all the economic operators and, in particular, to the vice -president of the city council Giorgio Gullotta, who with his commitment coordinated the tastings, contributing to the perfect success of the event.

In Roccavaldina after the greetings of the mayor Salvatore Visalli and the president of the Gal Taormina Peloritani Antonio Bonfiglio, the stage hosted the showcooking of chefs Giuseppe Geraci who delighted the public with a dish that has been able to combine tradition and creativity: peppers, mussels, shopkeeper and chops in Roccavaldina, a real tribute to the flavors of the territory.

And even here the free tastings made the evening even more special: from the lemon granita and prickly pears of the Puticedda bar to the icing sugar focaccia, from the pasta to the standard of the restaurant Il Poggio del tempo lost to the morsels with panelle, aubergine and sifleese Lime and basil of Nino Arrigo, up to the wine of the Catarussa cellar who accompanied the flavors of the tradition.
Following Carlo Barbera, actor and storyteller, director, writer and artistic director of the company “La Bottega degli Attori”, and the splendid voice of Cristina Negroni accompanied by the music of Maurizio worked on percussion and Francesco Bonaccorso to the keyboards who lit Piazza del Popolo involving the audience present.

Tonight appointment in Mongiuffi Melia who will also host a moment of sensitivity dedicated to “The flavors of the mountain”. Following the show cooking of Roberto Antonuccio, the inevitable houses of taste and the music of the Triskelion.
