Maxi carabinieri operation against the theft of oncological drugs. This morning the soldiers of the Cirò Marina company, with the support of the departments of Naples, Casoria, Marano and Trento, carried out an order for precautionary custody issued by the investigating judge of Crotone, at the request of the Public Prosecutor’s Office led by Domenico Guarascio, against three people accused in various capacities of aggravated theft, receiving stolen goods and recycling.
The investigations, launched on June 5, made it possible to reconstruct two shots scored on 4 and 25 June against the ASP of Cirò Marina, where oncological drugs were removed for a total value of over 700 thousand euros. Already in July a first precautionary measure had triggered, which is now added the new circumstantial framework.
According to investigators, in addition to an alleged manager already identified, a young woman, who would have participated in the preparation and the following phase, were also involved in the thefts, and a third party accused of having hidden and managed part of the booty. During the searches, cell phones and thousands of euros in cash were seized.
The suspects were taken to prison. The procedure is still in the preliminary investigation phase and the guilt of the arrested subjects must be ascertained in the procedural seat. The investigations continue to identify other possible accomplices.
