For these reasons the joint regional secretariats of Calabria of Filcams Cgil, Fisascat Cisl and Uiltucs Uil have A full day of strike proclaimed for the day of Ferragosto in the commercial sector in Calabria.
“This strike – it is written in a note – is a duty towards the many workers in the sector who with sacrifice continue to carry out their duty daily in the service of companies and customers in a condition of extreme precariousness and flexibility that prevents them from redeeming themselves from the condition of economic need despite a life dedicated to work without enjoying holidays or Sunday rest. It is an incentive for those workers who will be able to enjoy the day of Ferragosto with their family, in the company of friends or simply by eating as it is right; a warning for those few companies that stubbornly insist on keeping their shops and commercial activities open on Ferragosto”.
The joint secretariats of Filcams Cgil, Fisascat Cisl and Uiltucs Uil in declaring the strike, the note concludes, “have informed not only the employers’ associations and the Prefectures but also the regional councilor for the sector, requesting a regional provision, as already issued in the past, which orders the closure of commercial activities throughout Calabria on the day of Ferragosto”.
